Holly Jolly Interactive Flip Card

Today I'm sharing my final card from this past Saturday's Stamp-A-Stack.  I've saved my favorite card for last because it's interactive and fun!

The card base was cut from Old Olive using Stampin' Up!'s new Circle Card Thinlits die on the Magnetic Platform in the Big Shot.  I used some coordinating Designer Series Paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack to create the background and an accent strip-- I think this paper is so pretty!

I used the "Have a Jolly Jolly Christmas" stamp from the Tags 4 You stamp set, and then used the coordinating bracket punch to punch it out.  Then I mounted that onto the Cherry Cobbler scalloped circle, and... done!  This card was super simple to make!  I can't wait to experiment more with the Circle Card Thinlits!

The first picture shows the card from the front when it's "closed"

Here's the card after you open it!  I used the scalloped circle thinlit from the circle card thinlits die set to make a white area where I can sign the card and write a small note.

Here are the supplies I used to create this card.  All supplies are from Stampin' Up! and available for purchase through my Stampin' Up! Online Store unless otherwise noted:

Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge #4: Mom Edition

Here's my mom's card creation for the Inky Paws Sketch Challenge #4 over at the Newton's Nook Designs blog.  As is tradition now, my mom and I sat down last weekend and both created a card for the challenge.  I'll be posting the card my mom created in my next post!

Here's the sketch we were given:

And here's my mom's card!  She really wanted to use this cute little Chihuahua stamp on her challenge card since it reminds her of our own puppy- a Papillon with very large ears!  She colored in the stamped pup with Stampin' Write markers from Stampin' Up!, and used a marker to add a small border around the circle.  I really like the glittery paper and the gold ribbon that she used to create this card.

Newton's Nook Designs: Inky Paws Sketch Challenge #4

I'm taking a quick break from showcasing my stamp-a-stack cards from this weekend to show you my creation for the Inky Paws Sketch Challenge #4 over at the Newton's Nook Designs blog.  I was lucky enough to win the Canine Christmas stamp set during the holiday release party, and also purchased the Newton's Holiday Mischief set and Holiday Wishes.  I love the kitties and puppies and the festive holiday themes!  As is tradition now, my mom and I sat down last weekend and both created a card for the challenge.  I'll be posting the card my mom created in my next post!

Here's the sketch we were given:

And here's my card!  I've been really excited about using the cat stamp with the holiday lights ever since I saw the stamp-- Newton gets into so much mischief!  I used my black Staz-On ink to stamp the naughty kitty, and then used my brand new Prismacolor watercolor colored pencils to color him in.  Then I used a blender pen to even out the coloring.  I think I'm in love with these new pencils- they were a splurge, but totally worth it!  I decided to continue with the light theme, and used a Fiskars punch to punch out the holiday lights and attached them to my ribbon. Then I adhered everything, and used dimensionals to pop Newton out from the card a bit.  So cute!

Wonderful Wreath Holiday Card

I decided to go with a simple card for the 3rd card at my stamp-a-stack this past weekend.  This card was created using two stamps-- the Wonderful Wreath Wood-Mount stamp and the sentiment "deck the halls" from Christmas Messages.

I first stamped the wreath image onto Whisper White cardstock using Gumball Green Ink.  I love how vibrant this color is-- it looks so festive!  Then I used the Circles Collection of Framelits dies to cut out the wreath.  I used the magnetic platform to make sure the framelit didn't move, to get a perfect cut around the wreath image.  A few of my class attendees decided to go above and beyond, and ended up fussy-cutting the wreath out along the edges and inside of the wreath as well!  Both ways look great, but if you're looking for quick and simple, the framelits are a great way to go!

The card base is Cherry Cobbler cardstock, with Crumb Cake on top of it.  Deck the Halls was stamped onto the Crumb Cake with Cherry Cobbler ink, and then I used adhesive to put it all together.  The little hearts were punched out from the owl punch-- I love that punch so much!  The final touch was a simple bow using the new 3/4" Chevron ribbon in Cherry Cobbler-- I think it really dresses up the card.

Poinsettia Joyful Christmas Card

Here's the second card from my Stamp-A-Stack this past Saturday.  This card features the Joyful Christmas stamp set, with a beautiful poinsettia stamp image.  To make this card, I stamped the sentiment and the poinsettia image onto Cherry Cobbler cardstock using the gold metallic Encore stamp pad, sold in Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Catalog.  I couldn't wait to try out the new ink, and I think it looks really pretty on the red paper!

Next I used Old Olive 1/8" taffeta ribbon to tie a simple knot around the stamped images, and then mounted the Cherry Cobbler onto Whisper White cardstock to make it pop.  I embossed some Old Olive cardstock using the Stripes embossing folder and my Big Shot, and then adhered everything to a base of Crumb Cake cardstock.

I really like the simplicity and elegance of this card, and it was really easy to make.  I hope you like it too!

Festive Flurry Snowflake Card

This weekend I hosted my first ever Stamp-A-Stack class featuring holiday cards!  I'll be sharing each of the 4 card designs on my blog, including materials used to make each one.

Today's card was created using the Festive Flurry Stamp Set and matching Framelit dies.  I love this set-- the snowflakes are so pretty and the framelits make it so easy to cut out the intricate snowflake designs.  You can buy the stamps and framelits separately or as a bundle to save 15%!   I've seen a lot of great ideas using them, including ornaments!  I can't wait to play with this set some more and share my creations with all of you.

The colors on this card are some of my favorites- Island Indigo as the card base, Pool Party cardstock, and Coastal Cabana ink for the snowflake.  Each color is part of the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack, which I used as an accent for this card.

I stamped the snowflake image onto Whisper White cardstock with Coastal Cabana ink, and then used the coordinating framelit to cut out the image using the Big Shot and Stampin' Up!'s new Magnetic Platform.  This was the first time I was able to use the magnetic platform since I bought it, and I must say that it's amazing!  It holds the framelit in place over the stamped image so you get a perfect cut each time!  I'm so glad I bought it-- well worth the cost!

Inky Paws Challenge #3, Mom Edition

I'm back already with another post- this time featuring my mom's card creation for the Inky Paws Challenge #3 over at Newton's Nook Designs.

Here's the sketch we were given:

My mom really wanted to use the little owl witch when we sat down to work on these cards.    I think she did a great job coloring in the cute owl and candy corn, and I really like her color combinations.  It's such a cute card!

Inky Paws Challenge #3

Hi Friends!  It's been a long time since I've posted on my blog.  Life has gotten crazy between work and preparing for all of my craft shows this fall.

I'm excited to be posting my version of the Inky Paws Challenge #3 over at Newton's Nook Designs.  I recently purchased their NND's Halloween Boo Crew stamp set, and it's sooo adorable!  My mom and I sat down last weekend and both created a card for the challenge.  I'll be posting the card my mom created in my next post!

Here's the sketch we were given:

And here's my creation using the mummy bear!  I first stamped the costumed bear onto white cardstock and colored him in.  I wanted to make a Halloween card with non-traditional colors (read: not orange and black), so I ended up choosing grey and pink.  I used some coordinating spiderweb paper, and used actual gauze as an embellishment instead of ribbon.  When I started working on this card, all I knew was that I wanted to incorporate gauze to match the mummy bear.  I think it turned out pretty cute, don't you?

Newton's Nook Designs Mom Edition 2

Here are the cards that my mom came up with for the Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Sketch Challenge.  Once again, here's the original sketch.

Her second card was made using the set Campfire Tails.  She found some S'mores paper in her paper stash, and decided to turn the fishing bear into a s'more cooking bear instead.  Here's the card!

Newton's Nook Challenge 2

Here's my second card for the Newton's Nook Designs very first Inky Paws Sketch Challenge!

Here's the sketch I started with:

This one is called Don't Feed the Animals!  I wanted to use the adorable raccoon stamp- he's my favorite stamp from the set Campfire Tails.  I chose some checkered paper to look like a tablecloth.  The raccoon stole the chips from the table!  I used the included star stamp to create a neat flag for the card.

Newton's Nook Sketch Challenge: Mom Edition

Here are the cards that my mom came up with for the Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Sketch Challenge.  Once again, here's the original sketch.

Here's her first card, featuring Newton and some cute little mice!  She used the set Newton's Antics.  I love the cute mouse paper that she used along with the stamps!  It looks so cute with the little wind up mouse stamp.

Newton's Nook Sketch Challenge

Hi Friends!  I've had a very busy week preparing for two craft shows this weekend, thus why I haven't posted anything this week.  That didn't keep me from coming up with some new designs though!

My friend Jen over at Newton's Nook Designs recently started her own stamp business, featuring her very own kitty Newton!  She designed and released 4 brand new adorable photopolymer stamp sets.  They've featured tons of great card creations since the release.  Now they have their very first Inky Paws Sketch Challenge!  I had purchased two of the super cute stamp sets, and I couldn't wait to try out my new stamps with this challenge.  My mom and I sat down this weekend and both created two cards for the challenge.  I'll be posting the cards my mom created in my next post!

Here's the sketch I started with:

Here's my first card- Kitty Dreams!  The stamps on this card are from the set Newton's Antics.  I've been making knitting/yarn cards all week, and I was dying to use the cute yarn ball stamp on a project.    I first stamped the sleeping kitty and colored him in.  I popped him out with dimensionals to add some interest. I wanted to show what kitty was happily dreaming of, so I stamped the yarn ball all over the scalloped circle, and then added little tiny hearts coming from the sleeping kitty.  I just love how this card turned out!

Embellished Events Cake!

It's finally Friday!  Hooray!  I've been looking forward to posting this card all week!  It's one of my favorites from my weekend craft-a-thon.  I needed to make some birthday cards to sell at my upcoming craft show, and I've been dying to use the cake stamp from Embellished Events.  I also wanted to do some experimenting with my new Gingham Garden designer series paper (DSP).  I just love Stampin' Up's DSP because it color coordinates with all of their cardstock, inks and other embellishments.  Check out the card!

Betsy's Blossoms Bird Card

Hello Stampers!  Here's another card that I created this weekend.  It was very cold (60 degrees, brrrr!) for a July weekend in Wisconsin, so I wanted to make a card that reminded me of summer and warmth!  I think this card accomplished that mission, don't you?  The Daffodil Delight cardstock is so bright and pretty, especially after I stamped the flower image with Daffodil Delight ink.  I think it makes a neat background for the rest of the card!

Knit Happens Card

I'm excited to reveal today's card to all of you!  While some of the products I used aren't Stampin' Up! products, I thought I would share it because it's just too cute!   My friend Trisha at Crafty Paws By Trisha and I have been working on yarn / knitting themed cards recently for the Stitches Midwest craft show that our friend Bobbi will be selling her yarn at on August 8th-10th.  Check out her Facebook Page and Etsy Shop to see her awesome handspun yarns!

I used Whisper White cardstock as the base, and found some scrapbook paper that looks like strings of thread from my paper stash.  I used baker's twine and toothpicks to resemble knitting needles and yarn, and used the sentiment "Knit Happens".  I created these in pink, green, purple and orange- the pink one is shown below.

Chevron Thank You Card

It's time for card #2 from my craft weekend here at home!  I'm excited to show you this one, because it's all about the chevron!  I don't know about you, but I've been REALLY into chevrons lately.  I'm really glad that there are so many fun craft supplies out on the market right now using the super awesome chevron!

Today's card is very simple, and was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest.  You can find the original post that gave me my inspiration here.  To make the horizontal chevrons, I used the Chevron Embossing Folder and my Big Shot.  I choose two bold colors (Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz), and set them off by putting them on a Crumb Cake cardstock base.  Then I added some simple baker's twine from that I found at a craft store, and stamped the "Thank You" sentiment in the bottom right corner.  It's a super cute, super simple card!

Wildflower Meadow Card with 2013-2015 In Colors

Hello crafters!

I took a short break from posting, but I'm back!  I recently applied to sell my work in a few craft shows, so in anticipation of those shows, I figured I needed to add a few new cards to my inventory!  I spent the entire weekend designing and mass producing cards.  It was so much fun!  (Minus the back ache at the end of each day.... lol!)  So, this week I'll be featuring the cards that I created this weekend.

Today's card features the Wildflower Meadow stamp.  It has a coordinating embossing folder- which I didn't end up using here, but I will show it on a future card!  I bought the stamp and folder bundled together to save 15% off the price it would cost if I bought them separately.

I have loved this stamp since I first saw it on some cards on Pinterest, and I bought it in clear-mount in my original demonstrator starter kit.  I was so excited about all the new stuff I could get in the kit, that I didn't even think about getting a clear acrylic block large enough to mount the stamp on, oops!  So when my kit arrived, I went to use this stamp and realized that I couldn't!  I was so disappointed in myself for forgetting.  However, I recently put in an order for more products, and you better believe that the Clear Block set was number one on my list this order.

So here's the card!  The stamp is very large- that's all one stamped image!  It makes such a great scene, with so little effort.  I decided to use the 2013-2015 Stampin' Up! In Colors- specifically Strawberry Slush and Pistachio Pudding.  I love how they look together!  This is definitely one of my favorite cards that I've ever made.

Here are the supplies I used to create this card.  All supplies are from Stampin' Up! and available for purchase through my Stampin' Up! Online Store unless otherwise noted:

Storybook Friends Kitten Card

Today's featured card is the final card design I created at my craft weekend at Magnolia Ridge.  It's very similar to yesterday's puppy card, with a few small changes in the colors.  I just had to use the adorable kitten stamp!  I love how I was able to make the cat look like it had stripes with my Stampin' Write marker- so cute!
